We hope everyone had a restful and relaxing break.
As many of you know that COVID-19 cases concerning the Omicron variant continue to rise and as we move forward with the next season, we must communicate with one another. We are confident that we can have a season following COVID protocols.
- ALL players, coaches, referees, spectators (for those who are allowing them) to be masked at all times. This is mandated by the LA County of health and should be part of your school’s protocols.
- All student-athletes that are participating need to test a minimum of once a week.
- Basketball is considered high risk and should be played outside or in a properly ventilated gym. If a team has four or more cases in 14 days, they have to shut down that team for seven days.
We also understand that there will be disruptions, starts, and stops along the way, more than likely. It’s critical that school communication regarding schedules, changes, and, most importantly, protocols are regularly shared and honored. It’s essential to make space for cancelations and to be as flexible as possible. We can pull this off if we are diligent and work together. This may be how we have to operate for this season.
Good luck and if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
